Our first pop-up market was last Saturday at the Aviary in Edmonton. I knew this thing would be fun, but it was even better than expected. It's awesome to see so many people come out and support local artists, creators, and weirdos like me.
It's also inspiring to see all the cool shit the other vendors are creating and the businesses they're working their asses off to grow. Not only do they put a ton of work into their products, but it's clear a lot of blood, sweat, and beers have been poured into their displays. And the majority of it, if not all, they do themselves.
I worked on a DIY banner for mine that turned out pretty punk rock but will have to step up my game to compete. I've got some ideas brewing for the next event. We don't have any booked yet, so I'm not sure when that will be, but stay tuned.
Aside from forgetting the clothing rack, everything went super smooth, and it was a huge success. A bunch of you actually bought our stuff. And a lot of it. I sold more here than any other day online. We're sold out of a lot of sizes and some shirts entirely. I'll be tweaking inventory levels for some sizes and be better prepared for next time.
A huge thanks to my better half, Jessica, for helping run the booth and make most of the sales (she's a much better salesperson than I am). To the PRFMYEG (@punkrockfleamarketyeg) and the Aviary (@aviary.edmonton) for having us and putting in all the work to set this up, all the rad vendors, and all the friends & punks who stopped by to say hi and check us out and support small businesses!
Cheers,
Jesse
